It’s been quite some time since I’ve been able to finish up a project! Thanks to you all for hanging in there with me. The last couple months of pregnancy are not for sissies, that’s for sure! But I’ve got a great one for ya this morning! You’ll remember in my last post that I picked up this REALLY, really heavy armoire (thank goodness for my strong hubby) at a thrift store the other week. A light, French gray is always tempting, but I’m working on another … [Read more...] about Armoire Inspiration
When I posted the graphic Damask Dresser I redid for my very own bedroom, there was a huge response to the project. (Okay, okay! So the projector giveaway might have influence a handful of comments.) I thought I might try a similar designed dresser to offer for sale. This time I decided to do a little shabbier take on the design. I started with this solidly built, but otherwise uninspiring large dresser. I’m 16 weeks pregnant today! I can safely say that I am done with the “morning” sickness now. Hooray!! And I’m back with my first official project since I went down for the count around Christmas time! (Thanks to Cara for holding down the fort in my absence.) For my first project back in the saddle, I chose to tackles this great dresser I picked up for $15 (I know!) back in December. (I’ve had lots of time to think about what I wanted to do with it with all that laying around and moaning on … [Read more...] about Chevron Dresser (I’m back!)
Phew! That was a super NICE and much needed week off, filled with family and food (two of my favorite things.) With all the commotion around here leading up to the Camp Verde sale, then a week I promised myself would be time off from all things furniture and blog related, I didn’t get to post this set that I finished up! I thought you might enjoy it. :) It wasn’t a set originally, but everything works together so swimmingly! It began as this lovely appliqued sleigh headboard and footboard … [Read more...] about White Twin Bedroom Set

Have you ever been perplexed about how to get a cool design on a piece of fabric, or a picture in a book, or a graphic on your computer onto a wall or a piece of furniture? Well it’s something that’s plagued me for a while. I’m decent at freehand painting, but when it comes to symmetrical designs, or repeating designs or getting something really tiny to be huge, I have been stuck, so I started looking around for an opaque projector I could use for that purpose. I spoke to the lovely people at … [Read more...] about Damask Dresser & Artograph Projector Giveaway!
I found this awesome, nine-drawer, solid oak dresser for FREE on Craigslist. The lady said she was giving it away because it had been sitting outside and the top was all weathered, and it was missing most of the pulls. Neither of those things bothered me in the least because: A) the top being weathered made it easy-peasy to sand down to bare wood, which I wanted to do in order to stain the top and B) I was going to replace the pulls anyhoo! :) Yep. That’s one weathered top alright. … [Read more...] about Two-toned Freebie Dresser
