Hey folks! I have to apologize again for my lack of project posting of late. I’m still waiting on receiving my new paint sprayer, which is holding up some of my large projects. We have some other projects in the works, and picked up a bunch more stuff at yard sales this weekend (fall is great yard sale season in AZ!) so there lots coming just around the bend. :) In some very exciting TL news, my Pediment Headboard Bench was picked in the Top 10 projects for the September party over at the … [Read more...] about DIY Club’s Top Ten!!

A met a woman some time ago now who contacted me to buy the Lady’s Sitting Chair that was one of our first posts on the blog. She loved the chair and wanted to build a mismatched dining set around it, with eight chairs (seven more) and a table made from a (big) old door. We’re still on the lookout for the old door to suit, but we’ve finally finished searching for and refinishing the chairs. Now, in my humble opinion, it’s difficult to pull off just throwing a bunch of different chairs around a … [Read more...] about Shabby Elegant Dining Set
I hope this isn’t gloating… or prideful… but I’m SO excited that the wonderful Miss Mustard Seed chose my Sultry Gray Sideboard to be in The CSI Project’s Furniture Makeover Challenge Top 10 projects! That’s two weeks in a row! Hooray! AND I had someone contact me yesterday about coming and buying it! The online validation is fantastic, but the monetary validation… even better! :) … [Read more...] about Two weeks in a row in the CSI Top 10!
I’m SO excited! My little Bugga Boo’s new (old) dresser redo made the top 10 projects on The CSI Project’s Yard Sale/Tag Sale Challenge!! Woo hoo! And those wonderful Shanty 2 Chic gals also featured my headboard bench this morning! LOVE them! :) A big congratulations to Amanda at The Hand Me Down House for her big win with the totally awesome Pottery Barn Chandelier knock off made from a hideous (and also very abundant and easy to find) old light fixture! It was by far my favorite … [Read more...] about We made The CSI Project Top 10!!
Well, my freebie kitchen table hacked down into my new coffee table sold out from under me the day after I listed it on Craigslist (a good problem to have.) I was sorry to see it go, and just when I had hubby warming up to having a coffee table. So I’ve been on the lookout for a replacement, and came across one on Craigslist the other day for $15. It was a similar size and shape to the first one I loved so much, and the guy said it was solid wood. (Uh oh…) And it is very solid … [Read more...] about Coffee Table, The Sequel
When my oldest son was born 8 years ago (Sheesh! I can’t believe it’s been that long!), I decorated his room in a Noah’s Arc Theme, with a golden yellow and denim blue. It was adorable (if I do say so) and served him well in his wee days, but as he grew, and moved into a big boy bed, the room kind of became a mish-mosh of things added over time, including his younger brother. :) I never had time or inclination for a redecorating. Then, about 2 years ago, I was expecting my first little girl, … [Read more...] about Cowboy Pop Art
I thought I’d share a project that I did a couple months ago when my new little niece Isabella was born. My sister-in-law is preparing a room for her big sister, Lilya, and her to share, so I decided to do a project for both the new baby and new big sister. SIL has told me before that she’s been in a quandary about things to put on the walls, so I decided to do framed monograms for both the girls. I got a couple of matching 11 x 14 frames from the GW. They had great carved details, but … [Read more...] about Button Monograms
If you haven't noticed, we like Damask 'round these parts. A quick peruse around blogland and one quickly sees that we're certainly not alone in a love of all things damask and flourish-like. As promised, I'm going to introduce you to my new-found love, Damask Dings. It's a FREE webdings-style font download from Nymphont, and I can already tell, it's going to be a fantastic weapon-of-choice in my crafting holster as I battle the forces of ugliness. (Did I just type that? Ehhh... … [Read more...] about Damask Dings, My New BFF
